Types of Potatoes
Russet Potatoes
Also known under the name "Idaho" (because this American state is the leader in the production of this type of potatoes), potato Russet has an elongated shape and is characterized by its rough, brown skin flesh white.
Starch content: high.
Perfect for: cooking, puree,stargate worlds naquadah, fried.
Potatoes round
Potatoes are round and white smooth and slightly golden color, with skin texture and slightly waxy white flesh. This variety can be used all primed to moult ways.
Starch: Low to medium.
Perfect for: fried, mashed, to boil or roast.
Potatoes long
These potatoes have an oval shape, and like potato rounds, their flesh is white and thin skin and lightly browned.
Starch medium.
Perfect for: baking, frying and boiling.
Red Potatoes
Small to medium, these potatoes have white flesh and a skin color ranging from pink to reddish brown. The red potatoes are a delicious sweet taste.
Starch content: Low.
Perfect for: boiling, roasting and grilling, as well as in casseroles, salads and au gratin dishes.
Yellow potatoes
The shape of these potatoes are round to slightly oblong, yellow with a brownish pale, golden flesh and a slightly waxy.
Starch: Low to medium.
Perfect for: steam cooking, baking, boiling or roasting.
