The slow cooking process cultivates the most fabulous meals cooked in an efficient and conventionally traditional way. The number of slow cooker recipe books available is an indication of the popularity that slow cooking has brought to the kitchen at home. It seems as if it was only yesterday when at home as a youngster I enjoyed the delicious and hearty home cooking of my Mother. The range of foods which a slow cooker or Crock Pot as it is also know can produce, with the many recipe books available, are in their thousands. Generally, the slow cocker recipe book Author communicates the natural and holistic style of the cooking process which often allows dishes to culminate in to works of culinary art. The slow cooking process uses a low heat to cook food over a long period of time thus allowing the flavours to infuse the ingredients such as the more tough cuts of meat, offering a point of tenderness and succulence. Beef stews, Irish stews, Curries, pastas, Goulash to name but a few dishes perform with great confidence in a slow cooker. So who are the Authors behind this Crock pot idea? Well Judith Finlayson as well as Natalie Haughton are two of my favourite, offering straight forward, styles of slow cooking processes through their slow cooker recipe books. Even though I have been using this cooking implement for a while it does not cease to amaze me how brilliant the whole experience can become. Really does a day go by when Iò€™m not using the slow cooker for a lunch preparation or breakfast for the next day? Due to the low heat cooking temperature you can actually prepare meals hours in advance, leaving for work in the morning you can actually create a masterpiece which will be ready on your return home, early evening. I mentioned that the range of the slow cooker recipe book is extensive, however, it pays great dividends to familiarise yourself with some of the many styles of cooking out there. Although the process in principle is the same, the use of the combined ingredients in a particular way will produce some fantastic results. The slow cooker or the crock pot have been around for a while, making a big impact in the 1970s, while today the range and sophistication of the models in the market place really have come on leaps and bounds. So happy cooking, even happier slow cooking it really is a great amount of fun which takes away the stresses of food preparation and encourages wholesome homely cooking.
